The
search engines listed below are affiliates of the two
most significant search engine databases used on the
internet today which are Inktomi
and the Open
Directory. Many search engines pull results from
these two databases so this means that by targeting
these two databases your site should begin showing up
in many more search engines than the ones listed below.
You'll notice a lot of missing names below (Yahoo, Excite,
HotBot...). This is because over the past few years,
the big search engines have methodically eliminated
their free registration services. Start by manually
submitting to the six engines below and then use the
free submission service links at the bottom of the the
page to submit to many more smaller engines. Don't

Do
you have a web site that you think should be listed here?
One of the best ways to get higher search engine rankings
is by having lots of links to your web site from other
web sites. This is called your link popularity,
and the assumption is that if many other sites link to
you, your site must contain valuable information, so the
search engines reward you with higher rankings. One
effective method of marketing your web site is to participate

make this as painless as possible so that you do not have to
wade through the front page of every search engine to find the
"add url" button. However, if that fails for
any reason, click on the name of the engine to go to the front
