Aerostar MiniVan

1985-1997
Aerostar Mini Van

On July 18, 1985, St. Louis Assembly officially launched the first Aerostar Mini-Van.

In 1990, its new All-Wheel Drive system earned it the title of Motor Trend Truck of the year.

Over the twelve years of production, changes to the Aerostar included an extended unit, all wheel drive and the Aerosport.

The last Aerostar was scheduled for August of 1994 but in April of that year, the plant was asked if it could produce both the Aerostar and the Explorer.  The response was YES.  Aerostar production continued during the Explorer expansion.

Ford decided to discontinue the Aerostar two years later and on August 22, 1997, the last Aerostar rolled off the line.  2,029,577 Aerostars were built.
