1996-
Explorer Sport Utility

The Ford Explorer, America's best selling Sports Utility Vehicle, was officially launched on January 12, 1995.

Over seven hundred and fifty million dollars was invested in the expansion needed to bring the Explorer to St. Louis.

On August 17, 1996, the first right hand drive Explorer rolled off the line.  These units are sold in Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand.

The quality of the St. Louis built Explorers has steadily climbed since its launch.  In an ever growing SUV market, St. Louis Assembly is committed to continuous improvement.
